Students of the Department of Social Relations presented their research at the 8th International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD)
Four student groups of the Population and Public Health Sciences (PPHS) program of the Department of Social Relations showcased their research excellence at the 8th International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), held on 11–12 April at United International University. Their research presentations highlighted pressing environmental and sustainability challenges in Bangladesh.
Sarika Kifayat Islam and Fardin Ishrak explored “Energy Transition in Bangladesh: Challenges and Opportunities for Renewable Energy Development Toward Sustainable Development Goal 7”, highlighting key barriers and future possibilities for clean energy. Nazifa Tabassum Ahona and Junaid explored “Barriers and Opportunities of Circular Economy Implementation of Garment Waste in Bangladesh”, focusing on sustainable waste management in the textile sector. Anindya Paul and Kashfi Ahmmed Fima examined “Environmental Impacts of Rapid Urbanization in Dhaka: A Case Study of Banasree Residential Area”, shedding light on urban environmental challenges. Finally, Tasfia Tabassum Anannya, Samiha Rahman Adhora, and Mushfique Jalal Labib presented “Delta Dilemmas: Pathways for Sustainable Coastal Water Governance and Institutional Obstacles”, addressing critical coastal sustainability issues. We congratulate these bright students for representing the Department of Social Relations on an international academic platform and contributing meaningfully to the discourse on sustainable development.
