Department of Social Relations Organizes Educational Field Visit to Smiling Children Special School
The Department of Social Relations (DSR), East West University, organized an educational field visit to Smiling Children Special School (SCSS) on Sunday, 26 July 2026, for students of the Population and Public Health Sciences (PPHS) program.
The visit was conducted as part of the course PHS 304/7304: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights under the guidance of Dr. Marzia Zaman Sultana, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Relations. As part of their practical learning, the students observed the school's educational and therapeutic activities and gained insights into the care and support provided to children with special needs and disabilities.
The students were guided by the school's teachers in small groups. At the end of the visit, Principal Mahmuda Akhter, Vice Principal Md. Sabuz Miah, Guide Teacher and Sports Trainer Md. Roman Ali Shah, and Coordinator Munmun Madam briefed the students on the school's history, activities, and achievements. They also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about children with special needs to help build a more inclusive society.
The visit concluded with an interactive session in which the students shared their experiences and engaged in a question-and-answer session with the school authorities.
