Students of Department of Social Relations Present Papers at the 10th International Public Health Conference
Students from the Population and Public Health Science (PPHS) program in the Department of Social Relations at East West University (EWU) showcased their research at the 10th International Public Health Conference (Hybrid), 2024. The conference, jointly organized by the Public Health Foundation Bangladesh (PHFBD) and TMSS, was held on December 6-7, 2024, at TMSS Medical College in Bogura, Bangladesh.
Sabiha Binta Siraj, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Chairperson of the Department of Social Relations, presented her paper titled “Prevalence of Dissatisfaction Regarding Transport Facilities and Its Association with Academic Issues and Mental Health Among University Students in Dhaka, Bangladesh.” Tahmid Rahman, Sajidul Haque, and Sarika Kifayat Islam, under the supervision of Md. Rezwan Siddiqui, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Relations, presented their paper on *“Dhaka's Water Savior: The Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant.” Israt Jahan Labonno, Sanjida Afrin, and Sarika Kifayat Islam, under the supervision of Abdullah Al Mamun, Lecturer in the Department of Social Relations, presented their poster on “Dual Realities: Psychological and Physiological Outcomes of Migrant and Non-Migrant Students in Dhaka, Bangladesh.”
The undergraduate students contributions were highly appreciated by the conference organizers and participants, highlighting their academic excellence and dedication to public health research.
