Sarika Kifayat Islam and Fahima Khanom, students from the Population and Public Health Sciences (PPHS) program of the Department of Social Relations, presented their research poster titled “Mobility and Water Stress: Lessons from Urban Bangladesh” at the National Seminar on Climate and Disaster Resilience (NSCDR). The seminar took place at the University of Dhaka on April 11, 2026. In their study, the students examined the water-related experiences of migrants in the informal settlements of Bhashantek, Merul Badda in Dhaka and Chanpara in Demra. Findings indicate that migrant communities face various forms of water-related vulnerabilities, and many of them lack access to safe drinking water, which adds additional burdens to their life.
