Dr. Taufique Joarder Conducts Academic Consultation on Public Health Programmes at EWU
On 22 December 2025, Dr. Taufique Joarder, Associate Professor and Lead of the Programme Evaluation Unit at the SingHealth Duke–National University of Singapore Global Health Institute, visited the Department of Social Relations at East West University for an in-house academic session with the faculty members. During the session, he shared his expertise and offered valuable insights on the importance and scope of public health programme at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the context of Bangladesh.
As part of the stakeholder consultation process, Dr. Joarder provided strategic guidance aimed at strengthening the department’s public health programmes. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to public health education, highlighting emerging areas of focus such as mental health, digital health, and planetary health. His recommendations also supported enhancing academic coherence, relevance, and alignment with global public health priorities. These insights have played a significant role in shaping the department’s vision for public health education and its efforts to offer high-quality, impactful, and globally informed programmes.
