Law Students from East West University Compete in National Round of Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition at IUB

East West University moot court team reached the quarter-finals and ranked among the top eight in the 16th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition which took place on 29 and 30 August,2025 at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Jointly organized by IUB and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The team was comprised of 3 enthusiastic undergraduate law students: Tanjib Tabassum Bhuiyan and Afrin Sultana Anika both oralists and Syeda Nabila Haque as researcher. Mr. Khandker Saad At Tanbir, Lecturer in the Department of Law served as a mentor of the team.

The EWU team qualified for the National Round, crossing the preliminary round through a neck to neck competition with written memorials among 32 teams. The team performed well in both oral rounds and the two-day competition aimed to promote awareness of international humanitarian law (IHL). Teams presented arguments on a hypothetical IHL case before panels of distinguished legal experts.
