Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, East West University, was invited as a Guest speaker to the seminar on Cyber security and digital information awareness. The seminar was organized by the Center for Research and Development (CRD) of  Army Institute of Business Administration (Sylhet) on 16 April 2026. The title of her talk was “Navigating Information in the Digital Age: Strengthening MIL through collaboration and network”.

In her address, Professor Dr. Dilara emphasized the significance of creating awareness on cyber security. She also focused on the critical need for enhancing digital awareness to combat cyber security issues such as misinformation, disinformation, data breaches etc. She also discussed how digital literacy skills and competencies can help the individual to combat with these. Dr. Dilara highlighted the role of the Media and Information Literacy Network Bangladesh (MILNetBD) in promoting awareness and empowering the youth in developing the skills as the President of MILNetBD.
