Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies, East West University, attended the 89th IFLA General Conference and Assembly as an elected Governing Board Member. The 2025 congress held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 18–22 August.

Professor Dr. Dilara presented a paper in an open session of the conference titled ‘Strategic Planning for the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Libraries and Information Centers’. In her presentation, Professor Dr. Dilara highlighted how the libraries and information centers in Bangladesh can adopt Artificial Intelligence. She also mentioned the significance of developing proper policies regarding this.
