On 17 March 2025, the Department of Information Studies arranged an Annual Iftar and Dua Mahfil to observe the holy month of Ramadan with the students, faculty members, alumni, and administrative staff.

An especial prayer was offered for Marhum Syed Manzur Elahi, the esteemed Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of East West University, and for the beneficence and prosperity of East West University and the Department, as well as mankind and the nation. The honorable Chairperson of the department Professor Dr. Dilara Begum,  faculty members, administrative staff, and around 150 students of the Department of Information Studies were present at the event.
