Department of Law organized 8th Workshop on Mooting and Advocacy Skills for East West University Law Students
The Department of Law, East West University successfully organized the 8th workshop on “Mooting and Advocacy Skills” on Saturday, November 30, 2024. The event was attended by 104 law students from the Summer 2023 and Fall 2024 semesters.
The workshop comprised four lecture sessions which were facilitated by esteemed faculty members. The first session, “Introduction to Mooting,” was delivered by Mr. Riad Mahmud, Senior Lecturer in Law. This was followed by a session on “Fact Marshalling” conducted by Ms. Shamshad Bashar, Lecturer in Law. The third session focused on “Legal Research and Memorial Writing,” which was presented by Mr. Sayeed Hossain Sarwar, Senior Lecturer in Law. The final session, “Oral Advocacy and the Art of Presentation,” was conducted by Mr. Ali Mashraf, Lecturer in Law.
At the completion of these four sessions, participants observed a demonstration of a Moot Court Competition with the participation of EWU law students who gained experience in different prestigious moot court competitions.
The certificate giving and closing ceremony was graced by Dr. Nabaat Tasnima Mahbub, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Law; and Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Associate Professor, Department of Law. The participants of the workshop are grateful to Farzana Rifat Siddique, Lecturer, Department of Law, for arranging the workshop on behalf of the EWU Moot Committee and to Ms. Shamshad Bashar, for her support throughout the workshop. EWU Moot Committee expresses its gratitude to Dr. Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Professor and Adviser, Department of Law, for his unwavering guidance in organizing this workshop.
