EWU Law Team and Faculty Participate and Contribute Significantly to the Prestigious 6th Jessup Workshop “May It Please the Court: The Case Concerning the Craft of Jessup Advocacy,” 2025
The Department of Law, East West University, successfully participated in the two-day long 6th Jessup Workshop, titled “May It Please the Court: The Case Concerning the Craft of Jessup Advocacy,” held on 5–6 December 2025 at BRAC University. The workshop was organized by Jessup Bangladesh and the International Law Students Association (ILSA) in collaboration with Hearth Bangladesh, the U.S. Department of Justice: Office of Justice Programs, and BRAC University.
The participating team consisted of Radhit Ahmed Snigdho, Afrin Sultana Anika, and Kazi Ayman Awsaf, coached by Ms. Oishe Rahman, Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University.
Ms. Oishe Rahman moderated a session with Nicholas Liu, Assistant Professor at the Yong Pung How School of Law, Singapore Management University, and champion coach of the 2025 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. The session focused on an in-depth discussion about effectively coaching a potentially winning team. Additionally, Mr. Sayeed Hossain Sarwar, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law who is also the Deputy National Administrator for the 10th Bangladesh Qualifying Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition conducted a session titled “Knowing the Forum: A discussion on the Jurisdiction and Admissibility of International Court of Justice” to inform the Jessup participants on the concepts of jurisdiction, admissibility and intervention in the International Court of Justice.
