East West University team won “Best New Team Award” in the Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition 2023
We are delighted to share that the East West University (EWU) Moot Court Team has been awarded the “Best New Team Award” in the Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition 2023. This prestigious event was co-organized by the Transparency International – Bangladesh (TIB) and the Dhaka University Moot Court Society (DUMCS) from 6 to 9 March 2023. It took place at the Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka, as well as the TIB office premise in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The team from EWU consists of four undergraduate law students: Sabbir Ahmmad (Oralist), K.M. Radhit Ahmed Snigdho (Oralist), Aysha Rahmat (Researcher), and Md. Asif Rahman (Intern Researcher). The team was coached by Mr. Md. Pizuar Hossain, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Law at EWU.
In addition to winning the aforementioned award, the EWU team has achieved the distinction of being one of the top four semi-finalist teams out of 20 teams from 20 public and private universities in this competition. The team expresses its gratitude to Dr. Nabaat Tasnima Mahbub, Chairperson and Assistant Professor; Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, former Chairperson and Assistant Professor; and Dr. Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Professor and Adviser, from the Department of Law at EWU for their unwavering support.
The team acknowledges the contributions of Mr. Ali Mashraf, Lecturer from the Department of Law at EWU, as well as Ms. Nusrat Jahan Nishat and Mr. Akhlak Ul Islam Tushar, former EWU law students who have excelled in numerous national and international moot court competitions, to preparing the team. Last but not least, the team is thankful to Ms. Nabila Farhin, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, EWU, and the Moot Court Committee members: Ms. Nadia Rahaman, Senior Lecturer; Ms. Shamshad Bashar, Lecturer; and Ms. Farzana Rifat Siddique, Lecturer, from the Department of Law at EWU for their participation in forming the team.
The EWU Moot Court Team seeks encouragement from the entire EWU community for its future success in various national and international moot court competitions.
