Tanzim Maliha, a student from the Department of Law, achieves the ‘Outstanding Paper Award’ at the 2nd IUB Undergraduate Law Students’ Research Conference 2025

Tanjim Maliha, a student of the Department of Law, East West University, has been awarded the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2nd IUB Undergraduate Law Students’ Research Conference 2025, organized by the Department of Law, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Her paper, titled "Judicial Subjectivity in the Rarest of the Rare Doctrine: A Critical Analysis of Judicial Discretion in Capital Punishment", was selected as one of the top 10 papers out of nearly 67 submissions received from undergraduate law students across various institutions in Bangladesh. A total of 40 papers were accepted for presentation, and only 10 received the Outstanding Paper Award. The conference, held over two days, featured insightful research presentations, expert panel feedback, and academic discussions, providing an excellent platform for undergraduate legal scholars to showcase their research and engage with peers and professionals in the field.
