EWU Law Students Win Championship at SCLS National Law Olympiad 2025
The Department of Law, East West University (EWU) is proud to announce that a student team became the Champion at the SCLS National Law Olympiad 2025 (Season V), held on July 11–12 at the University of Chittagong. The event was organised by the Society for Critical Legal Studies (SCLS) and brought together 40 teams from law schools across the country under the theme “Environmental Law and Climate Justice.” The team comprising Afrin Sultana Anika and Tanjim Maliha became the Champion of the competition by presenting and defending their agenda, "Beyond the Façade: Unpacking Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Accountability in Bangladesh,” across five rounds. In addition, Afrin Sultana Anika was awarded the prestigious “Olympian of the Season" title for her exceptional performance throughout five rounds. Another team, comprising Syeda Nabila Haque and Kazi Ayman Awsaf, also represented EWU with distinction with their agenda "Legal Personhood for Environmental Entities". Syeda Nabila Haque was recognised with the "Rebellious Spirit Award" for her top performance in the written test.
Two faculty members, Ms. Nabila Farhin (Senior Lecturer) and Mr. Ali Mashraf (Lecturer), also served as adjudicators throughout the competition, contributing to the event's success and reflecting the commitment of EWU to academic excellence and legal advocacy. The Department congratulates both teams and expresses its appreciation for the dedication and excellence demonstrated by all participants and faculty members.
