Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies at East West University (EWU), attended the national seminar titled “Modernization and Expansion of BANSDOC’s Services” as the Keynote Speaker on 2 September 2026.

The seminar was organized by the Bangladesh National Scientific and Technical Documentation Centre (BANSDOC) and held at the BANSDOC Auditorium in Dhaka.

In her keynote address, Prof. Dr. Dilara Begum delivered an insightful speech focusing on the advancement, digital transformation, and strategic modernization of information and documentation services in Bangladesh. She highlighted the critical role of modern documentation systems, information accessibility, and technology-driven library infrastructures in supporting national scientific research and development.

Mr. Md. Anowar Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Md. Shamim Khan, Additional Secretary and Director General of BANSDOC, Dhaka.

The event brought together key policymakers, information management experts, scholars, and officials from various national research institutions to discuss roadmap initiatives for expanding BANSDOC’s national scientific database and digital repository capabilities.
