The Department of English, East West University organized a ‘Shakespeare 2025’ event on April 24th to commemorate the poet’s 461st birthday. The program featured a talk on the universality and continued relevance of Shakespeare in the 21st century. Students from the department took part in dramatic readings of Sonnets 18 and 138, performances from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth as well as readings from Hamlet and The Merchant of Venice.

The event was attended by Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Advisor of the Department of English, Professor Dr. Farzana Akhter, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and Dr. Akhter Jahan, Chairperson of the Department of English.
