Talk on “Issues and Trends in Records and Archives Management”
The Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University (EWU) organized a Talk on “Issues and Trends in Records and Archives Management” on 12 November 2018 at the CRT Seminar Room (560), EWU campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
The Guest Speaker were Mr. James Lowry, Lecturer, Centre for Archives Studies, University of Liverpool and Ms. Rukshana Afroj, Program Officer, The Carter Center. Mr. James Lowry talked about the importance of the authenticity of records, record management and issues related with digital preservation. After his speech, an open knowledge sharing session was held for the audiences. At that session, the guest was asked about the skill and qualities of a digital archivist. Furthermore, there was also questions about the challenges that supposed to be faced by an archivist during digital record management in archives.
Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the stated department was the program chair on the occasion. Students, faculty members and officials of EWU spontaneously participated the program. The program was ended by handed over a small plaque of appreciation to the guests.
