A break from the everyday routine work, this is something that inspires “Information Studies” department and the Library of East West University to come up with the idea of organizing an refreshing event, ” Study tour & Annual Picnic ” 2016 on February 06, 2016 at “Vulta, Rupganj, Narayanganj”, an attractive picnic spot, surrounded by Natural beauty. More than 42 participants including faculty member, library staff and students belonging to the Information Studies Department enjoyed all the activities throughout the day. This was the first departmental picnic of the Information Studies Department. The tour was coordinated by Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of Information Studies and spent the day in a delighted way outside busy class schedules. The buses set off from EWU Campus at 7am. with morning coolness and comfortable temperature. During the bus-journey, breakfast was served, music inside the bus and finally 50 minutes journey to reach the wonderful picnic spot. Following the lunch at 2pm, there was an eventful cultural program; music, dance, sports –everything was enthusiastically presented by the students. Proactive participation of the fresher students was extremely appreciable to all. Besides, a “Raffle Draw” was arranged in which winners were selected through a lottery-session. Finally the department Chair gave special credit to ‘Information Studies’ family for taking a big part of the workload, and thanks for the contribution of everyone.
