Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University did an "Outreach Program at University of Dhaka" on Global Media and Literacy Week 2019. At the continuation of weeklong celebration, on 29 October 2019, this outreach program had happened. Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor, and Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies and Library Management along with the faculty members and students of the department went to University of Dhaka. There the department organized a workshop with the collaboration of the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka where Dr. kaji Mostak Gausul Hoq, Professor and Chairperson of the department were present along with the faculty members and students of the department. At the first of the program senior faculty members of the department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka gave welcome speech followed by a visual literacy game was played with the students of both institutions. Then the main part of the workshop on the theme of "Young People's Perception about their role in informing, engaging, and empowering the citizens" had started where the students of the both institutions were participated. The nine groups had formed, each group was formed with the combination of students of both institutions. Then each group generated ideas on the theme and presented it in front of all. The one group was announced as winner by the number of judges. At the end of the ceremony the prize giving ceremony was held where the winner group received crests and certificates, other groups got only certificates and on the behalf of East west University, the chairperson of the Department of Information Studies and Library Management gifted a souvenir to the chairperson of the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka.
