The Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University in association with East West Library organized the “International Day of Peace 2019” by arranging a “Community Feast” on 22 September, 2019. This year we celebrated the day with the theme of “Sharing Food, Bringing Peace”. On the occasion of this day, different batches of the department brought homemade food and shared it to all. An extempore speech competition based on the topics of “Climate Action for Peace” had arranged and that was open for all the students of East West University. The best three performers of the speech competition were announced and awarded in the program. The remarkable thing of the celebration was that the children’s of East West Bidda Niketan School were invited in the feast. They took part in some activities such as cake cutting, giving hand print onto a white cloth as a symbol of peace, taking photos with posters of the Peace Day etc. Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University had embellished the whole program along with the faculty members, admin staff and students of the department. Among guests the Treasurer of East West University, Dean of Faculty of sciences and Engineering, Director of Finance, Chief Internal Audit Unit, Joint Coordinator of MBA/EMBA Programs and the Principal of East West Bidda Niketan School were present there. It was a really successful program and also a privileged for the Department of Information Studies and Library Management to organize as well as celebrate a graceful day like this with the flag bearers of future.
