Interactive Session held with the students of the Netaji Subhas Open University, India
Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson & Associate Professor, Department of Information Studies and Library Management, & Librarian (In-charge) East West University and Md. Hasinul Elahi and Tamanna Hossain, Lecturers East West University, were invited to the Netaji Subhas Open University (Kalyani University Campus), India on 20 January 2018. Dr. Dilara Begum was invited as a Special Guest at the mentioned session. The Chairperson and the faculty members along with 16 students from the Department were present there. An “interactive session on LIS education between the students of the Netaji Subhas Open University and East West University” was the topic of the talk.
The Chairperson, Dr. Dilara Begum in her speech emphasized on the mixture of Eastern and Western touch in the curriculum, the interactive teachings methods and ways of assessment at the department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University.
In the technical session, Md. Hasinul Elahi, Lecturer at the Dept. highlighted four basic aspects of the curriculum, activities of the department and club and also enumerated the need for information professionals in the modern age.
Four students from both East West University, Bangladesh and Netaji Subhas Open University, India shared their experiences about the department, its facilities, curriculum and teaching methods.
Academic offerings include 95 majors, 86 minors, and more than 100 in-major specializations and more than 100 in-major specializations
