The Information Club had organized an essay competition titled, “The Use of Information in Mother Language”. The competition was open for all the students of East West University. Participants from different departments have submitted their writings. The Essays were blindly reviewed by Dr. Fouzia Mannan Associate Professor & Dean of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Ms. Touhida Tasnima, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Relations, and Dr. Dilara Begum Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management. On 23rd March, 2017 the Information Club arranged a Prize Giving Ceremony to announce the winners of the essay competition. The first prize was won by Miar Munir, from the Department of Economics and the second and third prize were awarded to Sabiha Sultana and Miysha Khanam respectively from the Department of Information Studies and Library Management. On the very Ceremony, A. Z. M. Shafiqul Alam, Treasurer East West University had been invited as Chief Guest, Ms. Touhida Tasnima Assistant Professor, Department of Social Relations was present as special guest and Dr. Dilara Begum Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management chaired the prize giving ceremony.
