Dr. Dilara Begum has been honored as a Guest Speaker in Library Technology Conclave (LTC 2018), Goa, India
Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor & Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management & Librarian (In-charge), East West University has invited as a Guest Speaker by Goa University Library, Panaji, Goa and Informatics Group, Bangalore to attend the Library Technology Conclave (LTC 2018) which was held on January 23-25, 2018. LTC 2018 is a continuation of Koha Conclave instituted by Informatics in 2016 as an annual event.
She also participated as one of the Panelists for a Round Table Program on “Technology Challenges for LIS” which was moderated by Prof Marshall Breeding, the creator and editor of Library Technology Guides. She talked about “Remote Access: Globalization of Electronic Resource Access” and highlighted the various experiences in implementing different Open Source Software (OSS) for Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals. She represented Bangladesh through this platform and apprised the opportunities and challenges of using OSS by libraries in Bangladesh.
