Department of Sociology organized parents meeting for the newly admitted students for FALL 2019. The program was held at S.M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery of East West University (EWU) campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on November 22, 2019. More than 25 students with their parents attended the program. The program was graced by Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Chairperson of the Department and other Faculty members of the Department. Faculty members warmly welcomed the students and parents in the program. Dr. Fouzia Mannan and Dr. Mumita Tanjeela discussed about the university policies and requested for the cooperation of guardians to ensure a bright future for the apprentices. Other Faculty members of the department shared the benefits of graduating in sociology while they also claimed that Department of Sociology not only helps students for building a better career but also educates them to make a good human being. In the final session which is the most significant part of the program, the guardians started to share their expectations from the faculty members and they also suggested their views for the betterment of the students. The department is very positive of the continuation of such kind of program in the future also considering the betterment of the students and university.
