Department of Sociology, EWU invited Dr. Shannon Rutherford, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia.as a speaker on the Seminar entitled ‘’ “Climate Change, Water and Health in Bangladesh: A Complex Problem Requiring Multi-Sectoral Collaborative Solut

Seminar on ‘”Climate Change, Water and Health in Bangladesh: A Complex Problem Requiring Multi-Sectoral Collaborative Solutions” held at S.M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery in EWU campus on 1st November 2018.Dr. Shannon Rutherford, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, was the keynote speaker of the seminar. While Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU, was the Chief Guest. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Bijoy P. Barua, Professor, Department of Sociology, EWU.

Dr. Shannon mentioned the importance of multi-sectoral collaborative solutions to tackle the climate change, water and health problems in her speeches. She also suggested to take necessary initiatives from the governmental, non-governmental and individual level as measure for the sustainable development of climate in developing countries like Bangladesh.

Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin and Dr. Bijoy P. Barua also enlighten the audience of the seminar through their critical comments about the issue by highlighting the importance of establishing sustainable development of the country.

The Seminar was coordinated by Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Chairperson, Department of Sociology, East West University.  Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) along with the faculty members and students of the Department of Sociology, EWU also present on the seminar.
