Department of Social Relations Observes World Health Day 2019
The Department of Social Relations of East West University (EWU) organized a seminar on World Health Day 2019 at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery on 07 April 2019. The seminar is highlighting this year’s theme ‘Primary Health Care’.
Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU, was the Chief Guest of the seminar. Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Professor, and Chairperson, Department of Social Relations, EWU conducted the session as Program Chair. Among others, Dr. A M Pervez Rahim, Chief Coordinator, Autism and NDD Cell, Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, Bangladesh, Dr. Mohammad Bellal Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka, and Dr. Marzia Zaman Sultana, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Relations, were the other distinguished speakers at the seminar.
The speakers discussed the importance of primary health care and presented data and recent developments relating to it. They also emphasized equity and accessibility of all in primary health care, as important for achieving sustainable development goals within 2030. A large number of faculty members and students of the University were present on the occasion.
