Department of Information Studies and Library Management organized a Seminar on “Big Data”
The Department of Information Studies and Library Management arranged a Seminar on “Big Data: A 21st Century Challenge for Information Professionals” at East West University CRT Seminar Room on 08 November, 2017 at 2.30 pm. Dr. Akhlaque Haque, Professor, Interim Department Chair and Director, Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program in Department of Government at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, United States honored the seminar by attending as ‘Keynote Speaker’. He discussed different aspects of big data and the challenges of information professionals to cope up with the situation. Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management presided over the session. Among others, honorable faculty members of different departments, information professionals of EWU Library and Moderators of EWUIC were also present at the session. The program became very much interactive when students posed their queries to the Keynote Speaker at the ‘Question and Answer Session’. The seminar was concluded with the vote of thanks from the session chair Dr. Dilara Begum. Around 100 participants actively participated at the seminar.
