The Department of Information Studies, East West University, successfully organized an orientation program for newly admitted students of Spring 2026. A total of 60 students enrolled in Spring 2026.

 The program was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Farzana Akhter, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, was also present as the Special Guest and delivered an inspiring speech. In his address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor congratulated the freshers for enrolling in the department of Information Studies and highlighted how the Department can shape their career. He appreciated the academic quality and supportive environment of the department. The Dean, Dr. Farzana Akhter, emphasized the innovative work, dedication, and hard work of the department and its faculty members.

Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, welcomed the freshers with her warm words and shared the rules, regulations, academic policies, and departmental activities to help the newcomers to understand university life.

Abdur Rahaman Sumon, Senior Lecturer, Department of Information Studies, delivered an important presentation on sexual harassment prevention, emphasizing that EWU campus is completely safe and harassment-free.

The orientation program began with the EWU theme song, creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. Student volunteers from different batches actively participated in organizing the event. They beautifully decorated the venue and warmly welcomed the freshers with flowers and chocolates.

After the formal session, refreshments were arranged for the students, followed by a campus tour and academic advising to help new students become familiar with the university facilities and academic system. The program concluded successfully, leaving the new students motivated and excited to begin their academic journey at East West University.
