Dr. Dilara Begum has been elected as Standing committee member of IFLA RSCAO & IFLA Management & Marketing Section
Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management & Librarian (In-Charge), East West University has been elected as Standing Committee Member of IFLA RSCAO & IFLA Management & Marketing Section through a rigorous election process. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of people who rely on libraries and information professionals. She took up her new role during the 85th World Library and Information Congress of IFLA 2019 which was held on 24-30 August 2019 in Athens, Greece.
Beside this, she presented a paper entitled "Road to Meet 21st Century Challenges: A Scenario on LIS Education in Bangladesh" in open session on LIS Education in Developing Countries: Challenges and Trends on 29 August 2019.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Dilara has served as a Secretary of IFLA INFOL Section from 2015-2019 and two terms standing committee member of this section from 2011-2019.
Academic offerings include 95 majors, 86 minors, and more than 100 in-major specializations and more than 100 in-major specializations
