Department of Sociology organized parent meeting for the newly admitted students for Summer 2019. The program was held at S.M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery of East West University (EWU) campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on 1st July 2019. More than 30 students with their parents attended the program. The program was graced by Dean of the FLASS Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Chairperson of the Department Dr. Mumita Tanjeela & other Faculty members of the Department.

Faculty members warmly welcomed the students and parents in the program. Chairperson of the Department, Mumita Tanjeela , Dean of FLASS and Associate Professor Dr. Fouzia Mannan, discussed about the university policies and requested for the cooperation of guardians for ensuring a bright future for the apprentices. Other Faculty members of the department shared the benefits of graduating in sociology while they also claimed that Department of Sociology not only helps students for building a better career but also educates them for being a good human being. In the final session which is the most significant part of the program, the guardians started to share their expectations from the faculty members and they also suggested their views for the betterment of the students. The department is very positive of the continuation of such kind of program in the future also considering the betterment of the students & university.
