ACHIEVEMENT OF EAST WEST UNIVERSITY MOOT COURT TEAM
We are pleased to announce that the East West University Moot Court Team has qualified to the FINAL round of the 1st Professor Shah Alam Constitutional Law Virtual Moot Court Competition 2020, organized by the Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP), Dhaka, Bangladesh. The final round of the event will be held on Sunday, 23 August 2020 from 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm. The competition comprises a of total 5 distinct rounds, including memorial submission, preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds.
Total 21 teams of both private and public universities of Bangladesh participated in the memorial submission round of the competition. Of total 21 teams, total 16 teams qualified to the preliminary round of the competition, including Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Canadian University of Bangladesh, Daffodil International University, Eastern University, East West University, Jagannath University, Jahangirnagar University, Khulna University, Metropolitan University (Sylhet), Southeast University, Sylhet International University, University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi (Department of Law), University of Rajshahi (Department of Law and Land Administration), and Varendra University.
The East West University Moot Court Team is constituted of three law students as speakers, namely Nusrat Jahan Nishat, Kazi Miftahul Jannath, and R.K.M. Rabin Ahmed, and one faculty member as team coach, namely Md. Pizuar Hossain, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University. Three other faculty members of the Department of Law, namely Riad Mahmud, Nadia Rahaman, and Sayeed Hossain Sarwar also contributed to train the team.
