The department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University organized for a Discussion Session on how to avail the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship 2021. The ICCR scholarship 2021 is a medium through which the Indian Council for Cultural Relations helps both Indian and Bangladeshi Students. The graduate students of the department who are yet to join their Master’s program were invited to join the discussion session on 15 April 2021 through Google Meet. To talk about the Scholarship Ms. Shahrima Parvin, Assistant Librarian at East West University Library was invited as the Resource Person. She began with an introduction to the ICCR and its activities and then moved on to discuss the procedures on how to apply for the ICCR Scholarship. She mentioned about the funding process, stipends, academic requirements and more. She highlighted how availing this scholarship or other scholarships to pursue higher studies abroad can add value to one’s academic and professional career. Ms. Shahrima Parvin herself is a receiver of many fellowship and scholarships. She received the IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship in 2016, one of the prestigious fellowships in this field. She also expressed her willingness to help the graduate students of the department by providing more information as such.

At the conclusion Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of the department expressed her warm gratitude to Ms. Shahrima Parvin for disseminating valuable information to the graduate students. Dr. Dilara Begum and Ms. Shahrima Parvin addressed the queries of the students related to the scholarship. The Chairperson has always been motivating and sharing academic information with the graduate students through discussion session, alumni meetings and others. She also expressed her willingness to arrange more of these kinds of programs for the students.
