Students of The Rural Sociology Course Learn About Rural Life and Culture on Field Trip to Panama City and Sonargaon Museum

A group of students from the Department of Sociology at East West University recently took a day-long field trip to Panama City and Sonargaon Museum. The trip was part of their SOC 205 (Rural Sociology) course, which teaches students about the social and economic structures of rural communities in Bangladesh.

The students began their day in Panama City, where they visited a local village. They met with villagers and learned about their daily lives, customs, and beliefs. The students also conducted interviews with the villagers to learn more about their challenges and opportunities.

After lunch, the students visited Sonargaon Museum. The museum is home to a collection of artifacts from the ancient city of Sonargaon, which was once the capital of Bengal. The students learned about the history and culture of Sonargaon, and they also saw some of the beautiful textiles that were once produced there.

The field trip was a valuable learning experience for the students. They gained a deeper understanding of rural life and culture in Bangladesh, and they also learned about the challenges facing rural communities. The students are grateful to the Department of Sociology for organizing the trip, and they hope to return to Panama City and Sonargaon Museum in the future.

In addition to learning about rural life and culture, the students also learned about the importance of preserving Bangladesh's cultural heritage. Sonargaon Museum is a valuable resource for learning about the history and culture of Bangladesh, and the students are committed to helping to preserve it. They hope that their experiences on the field trip will inspire them to work in the field of cultural preservation in the future.

The students are grateful to the Department of Sociology for organizing the field trip, and they are also grateful to the villagers of Panama City and the staff of Sonargaon Museum for their hospitality. They hope that their experiences on the field trip will help them to become more engaged citizens and to make a positive contribution to Bangladesh.
