Research Day 2025 & Sociology Department's Remarkable Achievements!
It’s always inspiring to receive an award, a symbol of recognition and encouragement for one’s dedication to research and teaching. On May 24, 2025, East West University (EWU) hosted its 1st Research Day 2025, a significant initiative aimed at fostering innovation, promoting collaborative research, and emphasizing the vital role of research in national development and academic-industry collaboration.
This year, the Department of Sociology at East West University has made the institution proud by earning awards in four distinguished categories at both the faculty and university levels. These accolades reflect the department’s outstanding commitment to impactful research and academic excellence.
Award Highlights:
Dr. Anisur Rahman Khan received the Best Researcher Award in the Associate Professor category at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS), EWU.
Dr. Rasel Hussain was honored with the Best Researcher Award in the Assistant Professor category at FLASS.
Mr. Helal Uddin, Senior Lecturer, received two awards:
Best Researcher Award (Senior Lecturer category, Department Level)
Best Presenter Award in the 3-Minute Research Presentation (Department Level)
Brett Lee Mong, a final-year student of the Department of Sociology, was recognized with the Best Presenter Award in the 3-Minute Presentation (Student category) at the University Level.
These achievements are a proud testament to the Department of Sociology's dedication to advancing research and academic excellence. They also underscore the vital role of faculty and students in contributing to EWU’s growing research ecosystem.
