FIELD TRIP TO THE LIBERATION WAR MUSEUM | SPRING 2026

On 24 April 2026, a group of students from SOC7101: Introduction to Sociology, accompanied by the course instructor, Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, visited the Liberation War Museum as part of their experiential learning activities. The visit aimed to connect classroom discussions with historical realities, particularly in understanding the social, political, and cultural dimensions of the Bangladesh Liberation War.

During the visit, students explored various galleries featuring documentaries, photographs, documents, personal testimonies, and artifacts related to the war. These exhibits provided valuable insights into the collective struggle, human suffering, resistance, and the formation of national identity. The experience encouraged students to reflect on themes such as nationalism, social justice, and the role of ordinary people in historical transformation. They also participated in a quiz contest and were awarded prizes.

Overall, the visit was both informative and thought-provoking. It enabled students to engage critically with history from a sociological perspective and deepened their understanding of how past events continue to shape present-day society in Bangladesh.
