Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology at East West University, showcased her expertise at the Network for Education and Research on Peace & Sustainability (NERPS) Conference-2025, held at De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines, from March 5th to 7th, 2025.
On March 7th, Dr. Tanjeela presented her research paper titled ‘Climate Change, Water Scarcity, and Women’s Adaptation Strategies in Rural Bangladesh’ in the Climate Action session. Her insightful analysis of the intersection between environmental changes and gendered adaptation strategies in Bangladesh drew attention from researchers and policymakers alike.
In addition to her presentation, Dr. Tanjeela participated as a panelist in a roundtable session on ‘Change Action, Security, and Geopolitics in the Asia-Pacific Region’ on March 6th. The session brought together distinguished scholars, including Professor Francisco A. Magno (De La Salle University, Philippines), Professor Virgemarie Salazar (University of the Philippines), Dhanasree Jayaram (Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India), and Varun Mohan (National Institute of Advanced Studies, India).
Dr. Tanjeela’s active engagement in both the presentation and panel discussion underscores her dedication to addressing climate change, security, and sustainability challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.
