The Department of Sociology, East West University, is proud to announce that the research paper titled "Marginalization, Environmental Stress, and Survival Strategies of Forest-Dependent Communities in the Sundarbans: A Political Ecology Analysis" was presented at the Bengal Delta Conference 2026 (BDC2026).

The paper was presented by Dr. Mumita Tanjeela on behalf of the research team during the session "Bangladesh: Contemporary Challenges" on 24 July 2026 at Ruby Hall, Hotel InterContinental Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The research was conducted by Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Dr. Rasel Hussain, and Mr. Helal Uddin under an East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT)-funded project. The study examines the marginalization, environmental stress, and survival strategies of forest-dependent communities in the Sundarbans through the lens of political ecology.
