Dr. Rasel Hussain, Assistant Professor of the Department of Sociology, East West University, presented his research findings at the Hong Kong Sociological Flagship Conference of the “Hong Kong Sociological Association (HKSA)” 25th annual conference on 7th December 2024. The title of the research is “Behavioral intention and attitudes towards the adoption of technology by the informal sector workers; their employment and livelihood vulnerabilities in the era of information economy: A case of Bangladesh.”.
Dr. Rasel Presented the research findings in the “Digital Governance, Sustainability, and Smart City” session. The paper examined the behavioral intention and attitudes of the informal sector workers in the adoption of technology and the determining factors. This paper further explored the governmental mismanagement and policy crisis in this regard to develop a just and equitable society instead of expanding the digital divide in the era of information-based society in the context of Bangladesh.
The research findings further suggested some policy formulation at the national level to bridge the gap between the digitally savvy workforce and the technologically illiterate workforce.
