We are pleased to share that Dr. Anisur Rahman Khan, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at East West University, has contributed a book chapter titled “Cultural Perspectives of Suicide in Bangladesh” in the book Suicidal Behavior in Bangladesh: Epidemiology, Risk Factors, and Prevention (2026), published by Springer.

The chapter explores the socio-cultural dimensions of suicide in Bangladesh, examining how factors such as religion, gender, legal status, stigma, and help-seeking behaviors shape suicidal experiences and responses. It highlights the need for culturally sensitive interventions to address suicide prevention in Bangladesh and contributes to a deeper understanding of suicide through a sociological and cultural lens.
