Professor Dr. Anisur Rahman Khan, Department of Sociology, East West University (EWU), participated in the 8th International Research Conference – 2026, held on 17–18 September 2026 at the Trincomalee Campus of Eastern University, Sri Lanka.

At the conference, Professor Khan presented the preliminary findings of an ongoing research project entitled “Men’s Experiences of Intimate Partner Violence in Bangladesh.” The study is being jointly conducted by Professor Khan and Dr. Rasel Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, East West University. The research explores the experiences of men who have encountered intimate partner violence, with particular attention to the social, familial, and institutional contexts surrounding their victimization and help-seeking experiences.

Presenting an ongoing study at an international research conference provided an important academic platform for Professor Khan and Dr. Rasel to engage with scholars and researchers from different disciplinary and geographical backgrounds. The presentation generated opportunities to receive scholarly feedback, discuss methodological and conceptual issues, and consider alternative perspectives relevant to the study. Such academic exchanges are particularly valuable while research is still in progress, as they can contribute to refining the analytical framework, strengthening the interpretation of findings, and improving the overall quality of the research before its completion and publication.
