Shah Maruf is a Lecturer at the Department of Law, East West University and an Executive Member of Bangladesh Center for Ocean Law and Policy (BCOLP). He completed his LLB (Honors) and LLM in International & Comparative Law (with thesis on comparative constitutional law) from the University of Dhaka.
Enthusiastic about climate change law, he is currently volunteering as Data Collector at Net Zero Tracker, a collaboration between Oxford Net Zero and three other organizations, where he collects data about the carbon emission targets set by companies and governments, with a focus on the fossil fuel industry and renewable energy sector in the Global South.
Previously, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of Dhaka Law Review (DHLR), worked with a UNICEF project as a Research Associate, and worked as Research Assistant to the Secretary of Bangladesh Law Commission.
His primary areas of research include climate change, renewable energy and (international) environmental law, and (comparative) constitutional law. He can be reached at shah.ahmad@ewubd.edu.
