The Department of Information Studies, East West University organized a departmental orientation program for newly enrolled students of Fall 2023 semester on 27 September 2023. The program was attended by Dr. Farzana Akhter, Honorable Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, respected faculty members, admin staffs, some senior students of the department and freshers.

The Honorable Dean gave an instructive and inspiring address after welcoming the newly admitted students. She appreciated students for choosing this department for study. Freshers were also welcomed by the Chairperson Dr. Dilara Begum. The honorable Chairperson gave a small talk highlighting the mission and vision of EWU and department, policies and guidelines, academic information, achievements of the department, student portal and other important issues. After that Abdur Rahaman Sumon, Senior Lecturer of the same department gave a presentation on "Sexual Harassment". The departmental orientation program is followed by the "Advising" and "Campus Tour" segments for the freshers.
