Sociology Faculty Members Secured 14 Lac Research Grant from Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC)
The Department of Sociology at East West University is pleased to announce that two faculty-led research teams have been awarded grants totaling BDT 14,00,000 (fourteen lac) from the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC), Savar, for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. Each project will receive BDT 7,00,000 for conducting their research.
The first research team is led by Dr. Mumita Tanjeela (Principal Investigator), Associate Professor, along with two co-investigators: Dr. Sufia Khanom (Senior Research Fellow, BIISS) and Dr. Rokeya Fahmida (Director, BPATC). Their project titled, “From Policy to Practice: Exploring Women’s Participation in Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction in Bangladesh”.
The second team is led by Dr. Anisur Rahman Khan (Principal Investigator), Associate Professor, with team members Dr. Rasel Hussain (Assistant Professor), Md. Helal Uddin (Senior Lecturer), Ruma Parvin (Lecturer), and Mr. Mohammad Mamun (Senior Research Officer, BPATC). Their research will explore Understanding Civil Service Careers Through the Lens of Weber’s Social Stratification Model.
